More pics...

Here are a few more pictures to look at: http://picasaweb.google.com/chambersb/BurkinaPics2. It's after midnight right now and I need to get up at 5am to catch a bus back up to Djibo and from there bike back to my village so I don't really have the time to write a long post. I'll hopefully be able to post something again soon as I hear that the Internet's working again in Djibo. I also have pictures to post from my vacation in Ghana, but that'll probably have to wait until the next time I make it down to the capital (Ouaga). Hope everyone's doing good back home, please write or send an email if you get a chance. Thanks!

Hey Brian

Great pictures? It looks like you are doing well. Hopefully the hot season isn't too overbearing. The Red Sox bit in their first game but there are 161 more games to redeem themselves!!!!

Take care of yourself.

Hey Bry,

Looks like Tom Brady is following your lead. I clipped this from Boston.com

Tom Brady visits Africa -
Patriots quarterback Tom Brady returned today from an eight-day trip to Ghana and Uganda.

The trip was organized by DATA (debt AIDS trade Africa), the African advocacy organization founded by U2’s Bono.

Brady's 8-day trip took him through Ghana and Uganda, where he visited health clinics, schools and other projects that are saving and transforming lives in Africa with the support of American funding and international cooperation.

"Tom is a true champion for Africa," said Jamie Drummond, executive director of DATA. "Starting in early 2005 when he became the 1 millionth member of ONE: The Campaign to Make Poverty History (www.one.org), Tom has been a leader in spreading awareness about the issues of African poverty and disease. We were thrilled that he wanted to spend time on the ground in Africa and learn more about how debt relief and U.S. funding to fight global AIDS and extreme poverty is making a difference -- life by life, community by community.”

Among the sites Brady visited were a women's micro credit program in Ghana sponsored by Opportunity International, a public primary school in Uganda partially funded by debt relief and TASO (The AIDS Support Organization) and an Ugandan HIV/AIDS clinic jointly funded by the President's Emergency Plan for AIDS Relief (PEPFAR) and the Global Fund to Fight AIDS, Tuberculosis and Malaria.

"This was my first trip to Africa and it was an eye-opener," said Brady. "I saw the best and brightest of the human spirit in the face of incredible poverty that most of us just can't comprehend. I've learned that we as Americans, living in the greatest country in the world, can save innocent lives ravaged by AIDS with something as small as a 25 cent pill. When you see what CAN be done, it's impossible to not be driven to do more -- the needs are still overwhelming. This won't be my last visit to Africa and I hope to pass along what I've learned here to others who will listen."

Bryan - Mom and I really enjoy looking at your pictures. I have shared your web site with alot of people who are interested in what you are doing. The Sox just lost to Texas today (4/7/07) and are now 2-3. It is a long season. I saw the calendar with the picture of you and me at the Yankees game hanging on your wall. I was quite surprised. Hope you have a nice Easter. Love dad

Hi Bry-
That little red bird in the teacher's lounge is a red billed firefinch. Just started a new term here, I'm taking exactly the same classes as I was taking last term pretty much, just the next ones in the sequence. Take care...Love,
Heather

Hey Bry. Hope you're doing okay. You seem to have adjusted really well. You continue to be an inspiration.

The Sox buried Seattle 14-3 in the home opener yesterday. Daisuke Matsuzaka makes his first Fenway start tonight. Not sure how much you know about the whole Dice-K thing but it's pretty much the biggest story since the World Series victory. Only game I can remember where it may overshadow the home opener. He's a 26 year old Japanese pitching phenom who looks like he could be something special.

Anyway, hope you're well and try to stay cool. -- Geoff A.

Hey Bryan,

You are too funny with some of those captions. Those vultures would freak me out if they eyed me like that every day.

So that latrine hole.. doesn't seem that big to me? You must have to have some good aim :)

Only one picture of you? why is that? More pics of you next time..you look healthy and happy.. just as i suspected.

I agree, the camel did clearly want his picture taken .. i think i even saw him smile. Him?

So , no Tom Brady sightings while on vacation in ghana? What are the chances he is down there at the same time as you?!?! bizarre.

I ended up going to the sox game .. with Dice K pitching on wednesday (4/11) . Good time.. we lost 3 to 0 , but a good time none the less... it should be a good season. I think Manny could use some work on his hussle.. but whatever.

If Dijbo gets it's internet back.. i expect a posting at least once a month! if not more :)

Stay happy .. stay healthy.
Miss you..
love
Sue

Hi Bryan,
It amazes me each time I read your postings. No more needs to be said about it. OK, one more comment, you are a complete inspiration to me.

I am leaving the GD account. Going on to join the Sun team out of San Fran. I have started back to school, just finished a course and am now heading into Chemistry. Something tells me that you were good in Chem, any advice would be nice.

I will be moving out West in the next 6-12 months with G of course. I will miss the East Coast, but it will be a nice change.

So, we all talk about you around the office. John C is a big fan. Many changes at GD, only a few are good. I thoroughly enjoy keeping up with you. Take care of yourself and keep up the good work.
